Team

We welcome you to the website of IFRC Alumni

The Alumni Association was announced by the Secretary General of IFRC at the end of 2019 to coincide with the 100th year of the Federation. So many people have served with IFRC over many decades in many countries, as Delegates, National Staff of Delegations and in the Secretariat. In some cases, many friends and colleagues have even risked their lives in so doing. At the end of any contract, all contact with their working lives in the Federation ceased.

IFRC Alumni was established as it was felt there was a need to offer friends and colleagues a way of maintaining links with the Federation. We now have well over 1000 members, in 112 countries. Membership includes all levels of former staff, including the last five Secretary Generals. About 95% of members are in other organisations: Government, Donors, UN. NGOs and Universities; and the ratio is about 50% male/ female.

IFRC Alumni is a dynamic organisation. with three key flagship programmes: Applying Alumni expertise to current Federation operations, Filmed Archives of those involved in major past emergency responses, and Mentoring of new staff. Members also receive weekly Distributions on current information about the Federation, and often new research and information on the future of humanitarian response.

Past Distributions, Filmed Zoom Presentations, and Filmed Archive Responses are available above.

We welcome you to the IFRC Alumni Association.

With best regards,

Michael Stone
President IFRC Alumni
